Freebies:

Here's some code I've written in various stages of development (all released under the GPL of course)... if you like these and want to use them please drop me a line at drmastermind@esmartdesign.com.. thanks:

Linux/Unix

blow@home v1.0 Perl 5  a perl script to automate uploading of large files to the news groups.
hview (beta version) C a curses based hex editor designed to work with large (600+MB) files with as quickly, and with little overhead, as possible.

Windows

Search_asp ASP (VBScript) A search engine to query a Microsoft SQL 2000 database for mp3 track information, and return it as a formatted table.
scan.pl Perl 5.6 scans a cd full of mp3 files does some processing then adds them to a SQL 2000 database.
Call Log

version 2 and 3

Visual Basic 6  program to log calls for a call center.  I was in the process of pulling out all of the SQL and putting it into a class module which would have later become a COM object (the selects are done, the update/inserts aren't), interest for this project didn't warrant the added time though.

Note: Without SQL Server 7 and the proprietary database that I designed this program will not run.

WebHelper Visual Basic 6 A program I wrote to help the Windows 98 web response team in responding to web cases.

The design goal was to produce a consistent and easy interface for the writing of web response cases.  The "canman" (canned response) application was built in a extended to allow users to customize there own cans without the risk of loosing them if a new version of the official can came out.

Whats on HardRadio Visual Basic 6 little diversion one day, sits in the tray and tells you what song is currently playing on www.hardradio.com when you move your mouse over it.
Cartoon View Visual Basic 6 another diversion, it helps me view my favorite cartoon sites without having to mess with IE
LockTerm Visual Basic 5 locks a the screen on a windows 9x box (just to prove to a friend of mine that it could be done).

Prevents anyone from using control-alt-delete to kill it, no alt-tab etc.

TaskManager Visual Basic 5 shows current running threads on your machine.  Win9x only!
Cards VC++ 5.0  Plays a nice game of 21 (this can be any variant of the 21 type game... definable in the code)

Will not compile with G++ under linux because of the use of CString.  I may port it one of these days though, if I get the time.
